Series Canceled: Introduction to Mindful Meditation: Four (4) Week Series with Corina Urdaneta

This 4 Week Course will meet LIVE ONLINE via Zoom on Thursdays from 12:00-1:30pm on April 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd.

In typical modern life, our schedules can be so complex that we barely have time to feel the moments we are living. In this unusual and uncertain time during the Covid19 Virus, we may have moments of feeling anxious, lonely or ungrounded. No matter what we are experiencing at any moment in life, it is important to train our ability to receive feedback from experiences so we do not slip into dissatisfaction or numbing.

Through Mindfulness Meditation practices, we can purposely focus our attention on the present moment, experience it while suspending judgement and thus re-train our minds and hearts to be engaged for our life and enjoy its richness. Mindfulness Meditation has been examined scientifically and has been shown to be a key element in reducing stress and cultivating a sense of overall well being.

In this 4 week live and online course, we will explore theoretical aspects of Mindfulness Meditation and apply them through exercises of guided body scans, breath awareness and seated meditation. Participants will build a solid foundation of mindful awareness and thus open their curiosity, compassion and kindness as they encounter all aspects of their lives, on and off the meditation cushion.

No previous meditation experience is required and seasoned meditators are welcome to join.

Cost: $50 for 4 week live online session. On Wednesday, April 1st, registrants will receive an invitation via email to Zoom where they can log in on Thursday, April 2nd for the first live, guided practice.

If it is your first time on Zoom, give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes to follow the instructions to set up your free Zoom user’s account in order access our class. Those who have used Zoom before will be able to follow the link right into the group.
