Cathy Spence, MA, RCYT, is currently a 6th grade school teacher. She has been teaching a variety of age groups and subjects since 1993, as well as earned endorsement and certification in Special Education. After practicing yoga for years and experiencing the mental and physical benefits of the practice, she felt the call to teach yoga to children and teens. During the pandemic, and realizing the extra need for physical and emotional support for kids, she completed the 90 hour RCYT certification (Registered Childrens’ Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Ed. She wants to introduce children and adolescents to the art and science of yoga and empower them to gain confidence, which can build a lifetime of health and wellness through their practice. Cathy encourages her students to recognize the power of breath, meditation, and mindfulness through the trauma informed focus of each class.
