In the heart of winter, nature invites us inward toward stillness, conservation, and restoration. In Chinese medicine, winter is associated with the Water element, Kidneys, and Urinary Bladder - a time to replenish our reserves, turn inward, and cultivate the quiet strength needed to carry us through the season.
Led by Machelle Lee, founder of Roots & River Yoga, and Dr. Sam Francis, owner of Five Dances Wellness, this workshop explores the physical, psychological, and spiritual qualities of winter through Yin Yoga, Chinese medicine, and acupuncture.
The afternoon begins with a full Yin Yoga practice focused on the Kidney and Urinary Bladder organs and meridians, preparing the body and mind for winter. Following, you will be guided into a supported resting pose while Dr. Sam offers acupuncture to the ears, hands or feet to support the energetic qualities of the season and encourage balance in body and mind.
